Chabad House of South Yarra is located in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the trendy, downtown like South Yarra area, opposite the new Big W.  Although not an obviously 'jewish' area, like areas such as caulfield and east st kilda, South Yarra, Prahran and St Kilda Rd are home to many of Melbourne's distinguised Jewry. Chabad South Yarra was established in 2009, through the generosity of Mr. Eliezer Kornhauser who encouraged Rabbi and Mrs Yehuda and Chaya Hoch to stary a Jewish Centre catering for the community in 'farflung' South Yarra.

We offer celebrations for all of the Chagim, all with great entertainment and Jewish value. The Jewish Learning Institute, which is a high quality adult education initiative, holds its courses in Jewish education throughout the year. Our Shabbat and high holiday services are warm and friendly, everyone feels like family. We also host regular Shabbat meals, singles dinners, women's group and more.
